FIFA returns with more realism FIFA 22 is the next part of EA’s football simulation games, where you take on the role of a player in realistic conditions and can enjoy your favorite sport in your home. The new title comes with additional features, a redesigned goalkeeper and many new animations that are sure to impress. Based on FIFA 21, don’t expect too much extra content as FIFA 22 is mostly the same game. However, if you’re looking for a deeper management sim, Football Manager 2021 will give you everything, and eFootball PES 2020 offers a different take on the same technology, creating realism. FIFA 2022’s flagship update is the new HyperMotion technology. Hypermotion enables advanced 11v11 matches with internal AI behind the players on the pitch that adapts to create new animations as the game progresses. While the new animations may not be revolutionary, the appeal is that these animations allow the player to understand the ebb and flow of the game, what actions can be taken and when to take certain actions. More detailed animations give you a better understanding of where the ball will be, how the controller will react and when it’s best to shoot or change position. Regular FIFA fans will notice this addition, but with the implementation of HyperMotion there has been a significant lack of additional updates and functionality added this year.
HyperMotion technology affects the state of the game, significantly slowing down the speed. This was undoubtedly an attempt to skew the significant number of goals, which became a meme in the later months of FIFA 21. The slower state of the game means that the game is more realistic and satisfying, focusing on position and passing rather than lanes. a goal every 2 minutes.
FIFA 2022 Modes and Updates FIFA 2022 retains its core set of game modes this year, with a career mode that focuses on building your own team from the ground up and rising to star status. Many players are looking for FIFA just for this mode, so it will no doubt be important for manyto enter the world of FIFA. Additionally, many customization options have been added, from stadiums to player customization.
Virtual Clubs allow players to create a virtual player on the pitch and use it in online 11v11 matches. The appeal is that you only play with your own character and can develop and improve it as you play. The mode allows you to fulfill the fantasy of playing on the field in a position of your choice while having a tangible impact on the game.
The new updates offer more ways to see character development and game impact with time-on-field heatmaps and an updated user interface.
Next up is FIFA’s Volt mode for a smaller, more street soccer experience. With FIFA 2022 comes an update to the skill meter, signature skills, talents and more to give you more impressive performances on the pitch.
And finally, FIFA’s most controversial game mode, Ultimate Team, or FUT for short. This time Ultimate Team introduces a new elite division, allowing the best of the best to fight for the top positions in the leaderboard. FUT also includes more customization options and better co-op connectivity.
While there are plenty of quality lifetime updates and minor incremental upgrades here and there, none seem significant enough to replace the annual loot box.and skipping the implementation of microtransactions. The presence of loot boxes means there’s no guaranteed way to get the players you want, highlighting the “pay to win” principle, an RNG dynamic that players and the industry already hate.
The same FIFA reimagined If you’re an avid FIFA player, you’ll find more of the same in the new version of your favorite football game. The minor tweaks along with the new HyperTechnology should bring a valuable game changer to justify the purchase.
For newer players looking to get into the franchise, FIFA 22 is the most comprehensive and an excellent starting point for both accessibility of content and ease of play. Withoutregardless of your skill level or experience in the game, still be wary of loot box filling and greedy monetization practices.
